On 2 July Roof East played host to an incredible outdoor scratch performance curated by Hofesh Shechter and choreographed by seven outstanding dance artists. The rain held off and the audiences were treated to an exceptional array of diverse dance styles performed high above the rooftops against the stunning back drop of the East London skyline.
Choreographers Hannah Anderson-Ricketts, Lee Griffiths, Erion Kruja, Robia Milliner, Becky Namgauds, Duwane Taylor and Joseph Toonga, working with a group of talented dancers created an eclectic mix of beautiful, poignant, funny, fierce and thought provoking dance pieces which were expertly woven together by Hofesh Shechter and his company.
East Wall Warm-Up was part of East Wall, a long-term talent development project which will culminate in an outdoor performance in the Tower of London moat during LIFT 2018 festival and bring together a large cast of dancers, musicians and community participants to celebrate East London’s rich cultural heritage.
